Dr. Charles (Chuck) Aldridge, Jr. graduated from Appalachian State University in 1976. He then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis where in 1980 he obtained his Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) degree. Later, in 1993, he received a Master of Business Administration from Western Carolina University .
On October 8, 1980 Dr. Aldridge established a private solo practice at 3 Main Street ( Town Square ) in Burnsville , NC . This practice location existed until November 1988 when the office was relocated to the newly constructed facility at 419 East Main Street in Burnsville , NC .
To better reflect the use of this facility by other eye specialists, the name of the practice was changed in 2005 to Aldridge Eye Institute, O.D., P.A.
One of Dr. Aldridge’s beliefs is sharing what you’ve learned. This had led him to write numerous articles that have been published in optometric trade journals.
Dr. Aldridge earned numerous academic awards and achievements during his educational tenure. Since entering practice he has earned the distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry title and served as clinical investigator for several ophthalmic corporations. Dr. Aldridge is on consulting staff of Spruce Pine Community Hospital and a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina Optometric Association and Mountain District Optometric Association.
