She received her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She graduated summa cum laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Jennifer Mauney Smith OD
Jennifer Mauney Smith, O.D. was born and raised in Yancey County. She graduated Appalachian State University with honors in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then went on to graduate Suma cum Laude from the University of Alabama, Birmingham with a Doctor of Optometry in 2005. She completed a residency in pediatric optometry and vision therapy in 2006.
